Mucocutaneous lymph node syndrome is an acute , multi-systemic illness of children and infants. Sudden death occurs in ~ 2% of reported cases; 85% of the deaths are the result of myocardial infraction of cardiac arrhythmia during the third or fourth week of the illness. Postmortem examination uniformly reveals coronary artery aneurysms with occlusion due to thromboendarteritis.
