Staging of breast cancer incorporates three important components:
- T = the size of the Tumor
- N= presence of the draining lymph node
- M= any other metastatic nidus
Stages of Breast cancer according to the American Joint Committee on Cancer Staging are as follows:
- Stage I = <2cm N
0 Stage II = (2-5cm)or N1 Stage III = Locally advanced Stage- Stage IV = Presence of a distant metastasis
