    • Articulation of head of femur with acetabulum (ilium, ischium, pubis), connected by ligamentum teres (attaches to fovea; contains branch from obturator artery)
    • Synovial joint deepened by U-shaped acetabulum labrum (fibrocartilaginous ring)
    • Head of femur supplied mainly by retinacular branches from circumflex arteries
