Biliary Colic

The correct choice is B
Pathology of the Gallbladder, Biliary Tract and Pancreas (Major Problems in Pathology)

Biliary colic is “post-prandial epigastric or right upper quadrant pain, sometimes radiating to the back or up to the right shoulder,” lasting for several minutes to several hours. In short, biliary colic is the discomfort that results from the contraction of the gallbladder when a stone is blocking the cystic duct without evidence of true inflammation of the gallbladder wall(cholecystitis).

It is interesting to note that 10-15% of the population has gallstones, yet fewer than 50% actually develop symptoms. Some studies suggest only 10-18% of patients with gallstones are symptomatic.
