The clinical features are suggestive of UTI caused by an opportunistic agent. One of the most frequent opportunistic agents associated with UTI acquired after prolonged insertion of a Foley catheter is Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The involvement of P. aeruginosa is further corroborated by the characteristics of the isolated organism (production of a green pigment, oxidase positivity).
