Erythromycin is safe and effective for treatment of chlamydial infection during pregnancy. Amoxicillin (Amoxil) is ineffective for chlamydial infections. Ciprofloxacin is not consistently effective and is contraindicated during pregnancy. Doxycycline (Monodox) and Ofloxacin (Floxin) are effective, but are contraindicated in pregnancy.
