The Correct Answer is D

Type IV collagen is a major component of the basement membrane (BM) that separates epithelial cells from the underlying stroma. BM plays important roles both in biological functions such as cell adhesion, cell differentiation and tissue repair, and in pathological events such as cancer cell invasion and metastasis.

Tight Junctions, also called zona occludens, are seen as a band that encircles the cell and seals adjacent cell membranes. This closes off the intracellular space. The principle function of the tight junction is to form a more or less tight seal that prevents the flow of materials between cells.

Zona Adherens type of junctions encircle the cell and provide for the adhesion of one cell to another. These junctions are rich in actin, myosin, tropomyosin and vinculin microfilaments.
