E. Wegener's granulomatosis
This condition is uncommon and occurs in young and middle aged adults, with a slight male predominance. The vessels mainly involved in this disease are the small arteries and veins. Necrotizing granulomatous lesions of the respiratory tract, focal segmental glomerulonephritis and vasculitis of other organs characterizes this condition.
Presenting features include non-specific findings such as fever, weight loss, myalgias, arthralgias, malaise and chronic rhinitis or sinusitis. Supportive otitis, mastoiditis, hearing loss and a saddle-nose defect may occur.
