MCQ Pediatric Cardiology Answer 16

The correct Answer is E

Children who have a murmur that is diastolic or is greater than 2/6 should be referred for cardiovascular evaluation, perhaps after an echocardiogram is obtained. Other reasons for referral include cardiac symptoms, abnormal splitting of S2, a murmur that increases on standing, a holosystolic murmur, or ejection clicks. Stat EKG is not indicated in this asymptomatic child and will only serve to increase anxiety in this child’s parents. Digoxin is also not indicated at this point in this asymptomatic patient.
