The Correct Option is A

Iron Transport and StorageOn the brush border of the intestine there are two proteins that are important in the absorption of iron, one is the bivalent metal transporter called BMT1 and another is a ferric reductase enzyme, that work tentatively to have iron present in ferrous form and then transported into the cell. At the basolateral surface there is also another bivalent metal transporter called ferroportin 1 and a ferri-reductase that cooperates in moving the ferrous iron across the basolateral surface and then this ferrous iron will appear in the portal bloodstream to be passed through the liver and then into the general circulation.
